About MCH
Our collective experience through Mukkti foundation over the past two decades has given us a profound knowledge of how opportunities are unfairly skewed in our society. We met individuals with immense talent who were deprived of recognition just because they did not have the right network or didn’t belong to certain section of the society. On the other hand our work in the film industry led us to recognising the immediate need for fresh faces with finer capabilities. We tried for a long time to intertwine both these worlds through our work and opening this hub was the inevitable next step in our plan of socio-cultural change.
We have seen how art, in any form, moves people. It is deeply entangled with the present and past, making a home in our very culture to shape the way generations to come will conduct their lifestyle. The need to admire art and create art is an under addressed need in our society. When the Arts and Culture of our society are ever evolving, we may creatively flow between heritage and innovation. We hope to become one of the catalysts in this journey. This hub not only is representative of the past achievements that have led to it, but is also a hope for the imminent progression of our society.
The many lives that live in anonymity holding great talent may see us as an opportunity to establish their capabilities. We hope to help each individual achieve what they deserve, without any judgement, without the barriers of social constructs like caste, class, gender, religion, sexuality or disability.
Furthermore, Andheri/ Versova are locales that have adequate infrastructure in every regard but there has always been a missing space for artistic assertion. This is a Hub for Mumbai, A cultural Hub – for drama shows, an auditorium to mark monumental events. We have taken care of every need that would come up for a cultural hub in Mumbai including underground parking and wheelchair accessibility. To accommodate the diverse needs of artistic endeavours we have built various facilities such as the 320 seater Auditorium, Workshop spaces, Art Gallery, 2500 sq ft Dance studio. All oriented towards promoting a wide range of talents under one roof, a literal hub for each art form to connect and form new ideas.
